Nicole by OPI - On What Grounds

Hey all,
Just a quickie today.
Since there's exciting news coming tomorrow...

I'd like to show off the polish I received in my March Ipsy bag.
Nicole by OPI - On What Grounds
From the new Roughles Collection

On What Grounds is a turquoise leaning robin's egg matte textured polish.
What makes it really special for me are the tiny blue and brown flecks.

The first coat felt like I was applying smoothie to my nails.
The whole matte texture with no sparkle has never quite sat right with me.
But despite that I'm really taken with this polish. It's like stucco from the 60's.
And the colour is so perfect for Spring.

Wear time was fantastic. Removal, a breeze.
If you're down with texture I highly suggest taking a look at this collection.
All four shades are extremely cute, fruity and fun.
I'm seriously dying for a smoothie just thinking about them.

Have a great night!

Sinister Benediction - Spearmint or Fruit

Hey all,
As I type this I'm sitting at home in my pajamas.
In the big comfy chair in the corner of the living room.
The slanted blinds reveal the shining cloudless sky.
I'm sitting at the window enjoying a glass bottle of Coke with lemon squeezed in.
Ahh, Coke with lemon. Yep. I'm really treating myself today.

I've taken this week off work. As a "mental health" break.
Lord knows I need it. I work hard. I'm rarely sick.
I need some me time to feel human.
I need to feel like I'm not rushing to the grave.

And slowing it down, enjoying this sunshine and this Coke, is helping.
Enough blah, blah, blah.
Here's what's really exciting!

Sinister Benediction - Spearmint or Fruit

This is a spectacular light green jelly full of hexes of different sizes and colours.
Yellow, green, red, black. Shiny and matte.
With just the right amount of green shimmer running through the base.

The first thing I think of when I look at this is "kiwi smoothie" So juicy!
It's the little black glitters that make this kiwi for me, I love them!

This is one of three polishes inspired by Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
I watched that movie obsessively as a child. I almost had it memorized.
I think Sinister Benediction did an amazing job translating that film into polish.

It's the perfect amount of offbeat.

I just had to see what it would look like matte - love it!
Oh right, and I stamped using MoYou Artist Plate 6 using Konad - Black

What do you think of this oddball and amazing polish?
Did you watch Pee Wee as a kid?
Maybe I'll watch the movie today, as another treat to myself :)
Have a good one!

Stamp those Grapes

Hey all,
It's a beautiful Sunday!
I just got back from a quick dim sum breakfast.
There's nothing like a bunch of fried shrimp to start your day.
Every single time I stuff myself and end up feeling so tired and lazy.
So before I settle into my dim sum coma, I have a manicure to share with you.

I wore this for a day and then my heart said "make it matte!"

I love both versions, but I think the matte makes it extra special.
It really brings out the duochrome in the purple, and is luxuriously velvety.
What do you think?

Sally Hansen - Grape Going! is so interesting. Loaded with blue shimmer it flashes between warm and cold purple.
I love how interesting it is. Great formula. Minimal streakage.
I'm so glad Dagadelic was able to grab this for me. I can't wait to stamp with it.

I stamped with A-England - Excalibur. I left it out of the bottle shot since I use it all the time.

One week until I go away on holiday.
Needless to say, it's all I can think about.
Until then I'm going to disappear into a book and some crochet.
Have a great day and an awesome manicure!

Dollish Polish - The Koopa King

Hey all,
Happy Monday.
My back is so red and sensitive, and I'm not quite sure if I ever properly woke up today.
I passed out on the couch at 6:30 last night :S Damn sun hangover.
If only it didn't feel so good to bask in it.
My soul is happy. My skin is not.

While I was slow cooking my flesh, this was my fresh mani.
We were celebrating Dagadelic's birthday, so I had to sparkle!
Time for my most unique glitter!
(gifted to me by the wonderful and fabulous Dagadelic by the way)

Dollish Polish - The Koopa King over Zoya - Reagan with a matte topcoat
The Koop King is quite an interesting combination.
Yellow, green, pink, holographic, white and black.Varying sized hexes, squares, diamonds and bars.
In the bottle all I can think is "peas and corn" Well... lots of corn.

It's such a chaotic glitter. I like how weird it is. I even like the bars, and usually I hate those things.
I can't help staring at it. There's just so much going on. I'm constantly perplexed by it's strangeness.
But in a good way. I can't decide if it's beautiful or ugly, and I like that.

It's got personality, that's for sure. So I'm glad I've got it.
What do you think? Grooving on the colours and shapes? Or not?
The holographic diamonds are pretty spectacular in real life.
I think they're my fav, I'm a sucker for holographic :D

Uh oh. I feel the comforting arms of sleep embracing me.
Hopefully when I wake up I'll be a little less pink and a little more brown.
Or a lot more peely :S Only time will tell...
Have a great night and an awesome manicure!

Enchanted Polish - Ciao Milano

 Hey all,
How was your week?
Mine was fairly unproductive. I barely crocheted at all. Makes me feel so useless. The week seemed to go by quite quickly.
I suppose that's preferable, I just want it to be nice out again! I yearn for long warm days.
Until then, I'll keep myself busy with beautiful polishes.

enchanted-polish-ciao-milano

This is gorgeous Enchanted Polish - Ciao Milano layered over Zoya - Raven
I used two thin coats of Raven and one generous layer of Ciao Milano

I actually applied Essie - Matte About You with my dotting tool, thought you can barely tell.
Dangit. Oh well, you live you learn.
Lately I've been learning alot about art through trial and error. Of course it ends up carrying over into my nail art.
It makes me laugh.
I should have known the polish was too flashy. I think it would have been more visually stunning had I done a tape manicure.
The dots totally get lost in the sparkle.
What do you think?

Enchanted-polish-Ciao-Milano

Ciao Milano is an amazing colour shifting fine glitter.
From green to blue, pink, purple and even a hint of gold, it's never boring. I'm completely in love.

It makes me want to put ABBA on and dance the night away.

Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend or long weekend here in BC. First year of having a long weekend in February! Awesome. I've got one of my days figured out but the other two... guess I'll be catching up on my crochet! :D And a good movie or two. Anyone seen anything good lately?

I'll catch you on the flipside, I've got to get up bright and early tomorrow :P
Have a great night and an awesome manicure.
