Cult Nails - Thrive

Thrive is a mint pastel green full of delectable shimmer.

Without topcoat it is slightly textured, so I laid on the Seche nice and thick.

The tear drops are from Daily Charme

I was feeling inspired by Shelby Lou Nails and her fantastic use of studs 

(seriously, she is the queen! Check her out!)

I just love the shimmer in this. So damn twinkly.

And you know me and pastel greens (such a sucker)

Sweet Heart Polish - Isn't It Wonderful

Hey all,

I have a half dozens manicures waiting for their turn on the blog.

And instead of going in the usual chronological order, I'm skipping the line!

Today I'm breaking my rules man! D:

I'm just too excited and impressed.

This is my first time trying Sweet Heart Polish, and it definitely wont be my last.

I give you...

Isn't It Wonderful

Isn't It Wonderful is a purple jelly base full of gold shimmer and iridescent bar glitter.

I fell in love with it from the first moment I saw it.  

And when I painted it on, holy crap, like buttah!!

The most amazing effortless formula, even dealing with the bar glitter at the tips was a breeze.

At first I was hesitant about the bar glitter, but it just looked so damn cool.

Do you also find yourself torn by bar glitter?

Well my friend, this is the polish for you!

Micro bar. That's the wave of the future! Smaller, less annoying, prettier.

And iridescent! It's like shimmery ghost glitter! Not obnoxious, but a gentle foray into bar glitter.

Then there's the shimmer...

I mean, I could be sitting here all night talking to you about how wonderful this polish is.

I used two coats and the visible nail line wasn't nearly as noticeable as in the photos.

I accented with neon green stars from Daily Charme. So damn cute!

Model City Polish - T-Virus

Hey all,

Today I've got something from one of my favourite brands.

Took me awhile to get to it, but boy am I pleased with this knockout.

Here's...

Model City Polish - T-Virus

 

T-Virus is a medium blue crelly full of holographic hexes, squares and micro bars.

It was too pretty to stamp over (my original plan) so studs it was!

Perfect contrast, ermagersh! ^o^

 

This shade of blue really is something special. It's like blue raspberry jello!

And with the holo glitter twinkling through? Devine!

 

I love the mix of glitter. I'm an insane square glitter freak, I don't know why.

Also, I must mention I hate bar glitter with a passion. But I LOVE the micro bars!

They're so cute. And they lay nice and flat and don't irritate me in any way.

Hurray! Another winner from Model City Polish. ^_^

It's not even winter yet and mother nature has said "It's on!"

It's a scented polish, unfortunately two coats of Seche obliterated any of that.  

But who cares, that colour is just darling.

Smitten Polish - Cocoa and Cardis accented with Sally Hansen - Soy Latte & triangle studs

I obviously had beverages on the brain.

I did this one quite awhile ago. Lost 3 studs in the first 24 hours.  (._.)

Wing Dust - Grey Sky Morning

I put this on the morning after my birthday party. It was exactly what I was feeling that day.

Both this polish and Apple Pie were some of my birthday gifts from Dagadelic (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧

She always picks an amazing assortment.Thanks girlfriend! 

I left this polish on for longer than usual. It was so twinkly and mellow.

Studs & Gleequins, Oh My!

Hey all,

Happy Wednesday :|

I went on a work field trip today. To deal with thousands upon thousands of postcards.

Organizing, labelling and counting. Lifting a ton of boxes. Jamming my hands into paper. 

3 wonderful hours. And save for one ugly chip, my manicure held up!   

It was a great workout. Not to mention it seemed to keep my creeping cold at bay.

No complaints here. Just body tired. My mind is active though. 

The same song still going through it like it has all day.

Just brewed up a mug of... lemon myrtle tea...

I'm getting comfy...

Doing whatever we waaant...

...woah.

Did that just come out? :P

Anyhoo...

I got some new toys recently. So I tested them out with a few simple (a nice word for boring) manis.

First up... Studs!

All I can say is sexy, sexy, sexy.*clap clap* 

Everything I wanted them to be!

OPI - In the Cable Car Pool Lane (2 Coats)

Such a beautiful deep burgundy. The formula has just a hint of jelly to it.

And then.. Gleequins!

I was compelled by the silver holographic diamonds.

In indirect light they look like pieces of mirror, and make me think of the Indian fabrics my mother loves.

And in direct light   *KABOOM*   Holographic fantasy.

I took this photo a day or so after painting, and a few of the gleequins had curled.

Cult Nails - Discipline (3 Coats)

This is such a lovely delicate grey. The shimmer is outstanding, flashing from pink to blue to purple.

It's a bit sheer, but regardless, the formula was splendid.

Maybe it's the gleequins lending this mani a space age feel, 

but I couldn't help thinking that Discipline must be what alien flesh looks like.

I kept seeing flashes of Roger from American Dad.

What the hell brain?!

Well I hope you enjoyed my boring manis. :P

I really enjoyed wearing them.
