Model City Polish Gradient

Hey all,
One more post before I go go...
Tonight's A#1 most important thing - do my nails.
(And I better do a damn good job of it if it's going to last a week.)
Then and only then will I allow myself to pack.
Priorities! (._.)

Today's manicure is brought to you by my ever growing Model City Polish stash and the letter L.
I told Lucas I was doing a gradient and made him pick from all my MCP holos. :)
What a hard, painful job huh? Demanding girlfriend from hell, that's me!

artificial light
He decided on Cold Snap (blue) & October Sunset (purple)
But let's not give him too much credit, you can't go wrong with any of those holos!

artificial light
I stamped with Konad - White using Pueen Buffet Plate 59 for a little floral fun.
Super cute and simple. I seriously love the Buffet Collection.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a great deal and so versatile!
If you haven't already, pick this shit up!

natural light
Oooohh... Ahhh... Holo....
Alright, so I'm having a hard time coming up with content, what do you want from me?
You try and type up something coherent with all that holo goodness in your face!
I dare you!! It's like the sparkles are infecting my mind man!!

natural light
Well I wont be posting again for over a week.
But don't cry, it's going to be ok. I'll be back (Terminator style)
Take care of yourself and have a good time without me!
Catch you on the flip!

Afternoon Tea

 Hey all,
A few weeks ago Dagadelic and I planned an afternoon tea date.
It's one of our rituals. At least twice a year we get our tiered treats on.
Nothing like good tea, good company and scones with clotted cream and jam (my favourite part)
Usually I'm at a loss as to how to do my nails. But not this time.
Because Bitch, I got a plate for that!

Say hello to Messy Mansion plate MM10!
It may be coffee themed, but it had me at tiny tea pots and steaming cups.
 My tea freak heart rejoices!

I started with a base of Sally Hansen - Soy Latte (like hello of course it has to be in my tea mani)
Then I used Zoya - Odette for the gradient. ...I didn't have any other polishes with drink names (._.)
I really like how it turned out. Like tea you've poured milk into but haven't stirred yet.

I stamped with good old Konad - White for contrast.
On my thumb you can see the french press in all it's glory.
Or is that supposed to be a coffee grinder? I'm not sure. :\

So stinkin cute.
If I was a waitress at a diner, I would wear this everyday.

We tried out a new tea place this time.
Instead of our earthy Asian infused favourite we decided on a girly-er experience.
Set in a tiny converted Victorian house downtown, it was the epitome of dainty fun.
Everything was pink, many chandeliers and the servers wore frilly floral smocks.
It was a trip man.

Cute little timer to let you know when your tea was perfect.
Little bird strainers and plates. Huge tea pots with TEA emblazoned on them (very Alice in Wonderland)
They set us up in front of a bay window, like holy crap, it was so perfect!
And the food! Best tiny cucumber sandwich I have EVER had.

Now that I've made you hungry, you should find a place near you that does afternoon tea.
You won't be disappointed, there's a little something for everyone.

Hope you have a great Friday!

Double your Dose

Hey all!
Happy Sunday!
As soon as I'm done this post I'm going to cook myself up a hot dog and enjoy a noon hockey game.
Sounds pretty luxurious to me ;)
And I'm very happy to say I'm almost done my crochet project!
I've been really lazy with it this last week because I know our time together will be over soon.
Another baby to set free into the universe. Damn post-partum.

Today I've got two manicures featuring polish I scored at  AuttyW's blog sale.
:D (thanks girl!)
First up I have a gradient with Zoya - Neve, a beautiful sapphire metallic.
I can't believe I didn't pick this up when it was first released, this colour is right up my alley!

I paired it with Zoya - Richelle, a bronze leaning gold with holographic particles.
And that was that! Give me a simple metallic gradient and I'm satisfied.

Keep it simple has always been one of my mottos ;)
All you really need is bold simplicity.
_ _ _

When the China Glaze textures first came out I thought they were the worst.
But It's been a year and my opinion of them has mellowed. Now I'm intrigued.
Autty's sale was the perfect chance to try one out. So I grabbed Bump & Grind, a bright dark pink.

This is three coats, it's a bit on the sheer side. But the texture spreads like a dream.
I love how matte and stucco-y it is. It's a nice contrast to my usual Pixie Dusts.

With Color Club - Kismet & Cosmic Fate using MoYou Fairytale Plate 04
I stamped some very cute little stars. I would have loved this mani as a little girl. <3

I'm glad I decided to give China Glaze textures a try.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Any polishes you initially hated, but then grew to love?

Uh oh, got to go, game's on!
Have a good one!

Hot for Holo

Hey all,
It's officially spring, and the sun is shining.
I even saw the hint of blossoms on the trees!
As my Dad says "It smells like baseball season!"
I always get really excited. The kid in me still looking forward to summer break.
Despite the fact that it's been 10 years since I've experienced such a thing.

So I decided to flex my jeebjeeb art muscles since they've been atrophying lately.
Holo polish and two of my favourite techniques. A recipe for salivation.

For the gradient I used two I Love Nail Polish shades.
Music Box, an enchanting sea foam green & PT 78, an awesome gunmetal grey.
That was pretty spectacular, but I needed more holo goodness!

So I splattered with Color Club - Miss Bliss
The hot pink is the perfect contrast! Complete and utter eye candy.
Manicure complete! I am sufficiently satisfied. *.*

I'm going to spend the rest of this beautiful afternoon crafting a world class chilli. ^.^
Slow cook it to perfection. And then settle in with a 5pm hockey game.
What are you up to today?
Whatever it is, have a good one!

T.N.T. I'm Dynamite

Hey all,
Hope you had an awesome Christmas.
Mine has been both delicious and exhausting.
I feel like I haven't stopped moving for two weeks.
At least I have managed to be minimally creative.
I'm working on a little something-something you'll find out all about in January.
So get excited.

Until then,  Here's my Christmas Day Manicure.
A Simply Smitten Splatter

For months I knew I had to use Smitten Polish - Enchanted Forest & Zelda's Fall-y
Holographic holiday perfection, like tinsel and ornaments twinkling by the fire.
I hadn't settled on the splatter until the night I painted.
My heart said I had to, especially since I've never used this technique with holos before.

Zoya - Jacqueline made the perfect eggnog background.
In fact this polish is the perfect background for anything, I love it so!

--

I Love Nail Polish Gradient

Absolute Zero (deep indigo) & Pt78 (silver)
Looks much more subtle in the photos. Beautiful polishes and so amazing to work with.

--

Darling Diva - T.N.T.

I was unable to properly capture this one :(
Deep brown jelly with gold/green/orange shifting shimmer.
Kind of meh in the bottle, but a whole other story on the nail!(^ï½–^)
And how could you not love a polish inspired by AC/DC?
Check out the video if you want to see some amazing pants and... no shirts allowed.

Have a great weekend! I'm getting my lounge on.

You Know What Day It Is

 Hey All,
Happy Halloween! What are you doing tonight?
I'm at home blogging ( ゚ Д゚)
I used to love Halloween as a child, but like a lot of things, I no longer care.
I will concede to themed manis though. I haven't turned into that much of a witch.
And to make it more of a treat, it's a double dose.

But there's something I totally forgot to mention! (;一_一)
(and no, not my passionate love of emoticons)
I started a facebook page for the blog.
https://www.facebook.com/injeebjeebwetrust
Come on down and give me a like, if you like.

First up, I wanted to try out another textured gradient.

Doing a gradient with textured polish makes it incredibly textured. Like stucco.
I used Konad Black and really had to jam it in there, but it held beautifully!

Zoya - Dahlia & Beatrix come together in the perfect Halloween combo.
What do you think? Little bro said  he loved them , yay! :)

Next up, a wonderful Halloween themed polish.
Glitter Guilty - Bag Snatcher

Bag Snatcher is a white creme loaded with yellow, black & orange shards and orange micro glitter.
Loving it! Ok, so I'll only wear this about once a year, but come on! It's cute.

I stamped with OPI - Uh Oh Roll Down the Window, the perfect ghoulish sludge green.
Lucas picked out the skulls from the Viva Mexico plate. I love this mani.
I'll be wearing it for twice as long as usual. :)

And to make your night that much better, here's something very dear to my heart.
One of the best theme songs ever.

I LOVED Tales from the Crypt as a child.
So much fun. I'll have to watch a few tonight.
I suggest you do to. :)
Have a Happy Halloween!

Vancouver Canucks Inspired

Hey all,
What a full half week I've had. No time to blog, but that's a good problem.
It's more important to live life than to talk about it.
Canadian Thanksgiving.
I made two stuffed chicken dinners. Had a sleepover at a friends house.
Bought a new cell phone and obsessed over it all yesterday.
I cut a ton of my hair off. Man was it long. But even so, it's still long.
I did some sale shopping downtown and scored some sweaters.
And I watched a terrible hockey game.We scored on ourself! Wtf!?
Prior to that gaff we had been kicking ass. Three wins in a row. :(
So to celebrate the fact that I'm not a fair weather fan...

My Vancouver Canucks Manicure

Inspired by our team colours and the Johnny Canuck shoulder patch.

It turned out exactly as I had imagined. Simple yet bold (and beautiful!).
Vancouver, where the land meets the sea. If only it could be V for Victory.

I used both of my Smitten Polish holographics for this fantastic gradient.
Out of the Blue & Enchanted Forest.
I used Zoya - Purity as my accent finger base, the rest, Enchanted Forest.
Then sponged on the gradient and quickly removed the striping tape.

I love love love it!! :D What do you think? Canucks enough for you?
It didn't turn out to be good luck, but whatever. It looked great.
As far as I'm concerned, the team let my mani down! Not vice versa.

I also wanted to show you what I wore to my first tea date of the season.
My bitches and I hadn't been for tea all summer long, so it was a great way to ring in fall.
I went with something really simple. I was feeling neutral.

Zoya - Jacqueline with Sally Hansen - Soy Latte accent
Unfortunately I didn't take the pic until a few days after painting. Oh well.
It totally makes me think of Nutella. It went perfectly with my scones ;)

I've got exciting giveaway news!!
Check out her blog for a chance to win two Indigobananas polishes.
I've been drooling all morning. Indigobananas are fantastic.
If I don't win... I'll definitely be placing an order ;)

Have a great day and an awesome manicure!

Candy Stripes and Questions

Hey all,
Happy last day of summer!
I've had a couple busy days with my brother, and I tell you, I'm pooped.
Went downtown last night to get GTA V, which he's been playing non-stop since last night.
Then today we re-organized his bedroom, made it more tween appropriate.
He's super happy with how it turned out, and so am I.
And it didn't take long, but holy crap.
I need a nap.

Here's a little something I meant to share weeks ago.

First I made a gradient with Enchanted Polish - Kids & Zoya - Sari
Then I made some stripes with Essie - Off the Shoulder & Sally Hansen - Lickety-Split Lime

I think it turned out quite nicely. Super beachy, candy coated fun.
What do you think?

I was recently nominated for the Liebster award by The Mercurial Magpie
Although I have already taken part in the awards I wanted to answer her fun questions.

1) What inspired your blog name?
Well, one of my nicknames is jeebjeeb. And for a long time I was thinking about getting into graffiti. I wanted to use jeeb as my artist name and tag. But I didn't want to just tag "jeeb" everywhere. I started coming up with lines to insert jeeb into. Whatever Happened to Baby Jeeb? Fight for your right to Jeeb. Jeeb will tear us apart, etc. The best one I came up with, the one that kept popping into my mind, was In Jeeb We Trust. So when I decided to start a blog, it was the only name I wanted. And I never ended up doing any graffiti. Not really interested in creating illegal art late at night. Too much stress. My nails are my personal graffiti ;)

2) What nail polish colour can you not resist buying?
Oh lord. Green every time. I'm a green freak. And following closely in second, blue.

3) You're rushing out the door and have 10 minutes to do your nails, what polish do you grab?
Well, honestly, if I have only 10 minutes to paint my nails, it ain't happening! But, if I'm short on time but want something fun I lean towards an interesting indie polish. Like a jelly filled with glitter. Think Model City Polish - Hey Ho Lets Go. Or! A thermo polish! Like Pretty & Polished - April Showers.

4) Your house is burning down/ you're on a deserted island/ you're being abducted by aliens, etc... which 5 polishes would you take with you?
Oh no, this one's hard. Don't make me pick! Every two seconds I change my mind. And does base & topcoat count? No matter what I pick, five would just not suffice. :P

5) What inspired you to get into nail polish in the first place?
Hmmm... well I don't really know. One day I walked into a drug store, saw some Essie, bought two bottles and never looked back. I used to do my nails often as a child. But the horrors of teen life made me stop. I was 24 when I started again and I guess I realized it's now or never. If you want to do it, just do it. So here I am.

6) What technique have you struggled with in the past and now mastered?
Striping tape and normal tape manis. It takes a lot of patience. The first striping tape I had was just garbage, so proper materials really do help. Sometimes I still have problems, like holos melting my normal tape :S (anyone else have that problem?) but other than that, I think I've mastered the tape.

7) What technique do you still struggle with?
Argh. Watermarble. The first times I tried it it worked out really well. I thought I had it down. But the more I attempt it, the worse I get. I think I'm probably just psyching myself out. I was great at the beginning because I had no expectations Need to get back there..

8) What is your favourite type of manicure to do?
Well I love gradients because they're so simple and visually stunning. And I also love stamping because, with all the image plates out there, what's not to love? So maybe my absolute fav would be a gradient with stamp on top? Oh! And splatter. LOVE splatter big time. Don't make me pick just one!

9) How do you organize/ keep track of your polish?
I have two wooden boxes my boyfriend made specifically for polish. And  I organize by brand. I find it easiest that way. All my assorted indies are in the top box. And the mainstream brands are in the bottom.

10) What commercial brand is your favourite?
Zoya. My life hasn't been the same since their Gloss collection.

11) What indie brand is your favourite?
Right now I'm super into Smitten Polish. Her holos are to die for! I'm especially looking forward to the fall collection. So amazing!

Oh man. Not even the evening yet and I feel totally brain dead and want to go to sleep.
I can't even get excited about painting my nails...
Woah. I just figured it out! I haven't had any tea today!! :O
I've got to fix that pronto!

Have a great weekend and an awesome maincure!

Vacation 3-for-1

 Hey all,
I'm back from vacation!
I got some much needed r & r in the country.
Swimming in the lake was the best part. I'm a water baby, but lakes are my favourite.
We made lots of yummy food and watched fun movies. I crochted like crazy.
And I managed to finish the book I started the day we arrived!
So satisfying. The book was a pretty meh Stephen King, but overall a fun read.

I went away with Dagadelic, so you know manicures were afoot.
Deciding which polishes to bring was a bit painstaking, but I managed to narrow it down to 7.
And wouldn't you know it, used them all! So pleased.

First up
Pretty & Polished - Tomboyish & Zoya - Purity

Tomboyish is a colour changing polish. I used it once before in this manicure.
It was so warm out I was unable to capture it in it's cold state. But you can see the difference from the bottle.
I love this polish either way. In the lake, however, I had an awesome gradient going.
Just the thing to space out on while drifting away.

Next up, I brought a few of my most summery shades.
piCture pOlish - Citrus
The Nail Junkie - Watermelon
 Zoya - Reagan

I used citrus as a base and then sponged with all three
for the ultimate summer gradient...

I was so happy with this one. It's the gradient I've been dreaming of for weeks. Sunsets and popsicles.
Just a hint of Watermelon's shimmer running throughout. I wont soon forget this one.

Last but not least I have
Enchanted Polish - Congratulations & Nubar - Resort Yellow

I LOVE this yellow. I have found my perfect shade.
Not too golden. Not too neon. Juuust right.

And Congratulations? Well I think "holy crap" is the best way to describe it.

This disco fantastic manicure knocked my socks off.
Resort Yellow took 3 coats, but look at how perfect it is!

I'd have to say this one is my favourite of the three. What about you?

I'm back to work tomorrow. Trying not to think about it.
At least I know I'll have nail mail to look forward to ;)
Have a great night and an awesome manicure

The Dangers of Drinking - Barry M Gradient

Hey all,
This time I have two hidden gems for you.
Barry M - Grapefruit & Plum
I have been lusting after these polishes for a long time.
Too many amazing bloggers have done incredible manicures with Barry M's Gelly polishes.
Once I realized I could get them at Ninja Polish, it was only a matter of time.

I find their bottles incredibly aesthetically pleasing
I knew I had to do a gradient with them right away.
And I just purchased my first bottle of Konad special stamping polish.
So this is what happened...

My concept for this manicure is The Dangers of Drinking
Skulls accented by a shot of tequila, salt and a lime
Inspired by a recent hangover, and the plain truth.

Do you think the theme works?
The Barry M's were a delight to work with. Super opaque and vivid.
Great for gradients. I must add to my collection :)

I added a generous layer of Northern Lights Holographic Topcoat
Which never requires any justification at all.<3

I don't know about you, but the bottles really do it for me.
The lines, the minimalism. My god. Perfection.

On the Turntable...

Today I have Nine Nine Nine - The Biggest Prize in Sports
If you look in my grade 6 year book you'll find 999 listed as one of my favourite bands.
And this album in particular was always my favourite.
I used to listen to it over and over again on my Walkman tape player.
I recorded the tape from this album. Then later I bought the cd.
Now it's on my ipod. Any format you want, I got it!
Oddly enough, this is the only album I can say that about.
I never realized how much I loved it.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any live performances of songs from this album. (dammit youtube!) So this will have to do.
Listening to this made me realize where my early love of the bass came from.
Enjoy!

The clouds have come rolling in but it's still so lovely outside. I'm going to stay in and take it easy.
Giant blister on the bottom of my foot popped yesterday :P
I've been walking funny. And unfortunately I walk a lot.
Have a great weekend and an awesome manicure!
